Where creativity and ideas are transformed into projects
The guidelines for each new Fiat are drawn up at the
Centro Stile Fiat
, one of the main automobile design centers in Turin – the world capital of industrial design for the high concentration of style centers, professionals and associated businesses.
Initially the Centro Stile was part of the Fiat Technical Department, and designed a range of products, including industrial appliances and fridges, and over time it has been transformed into an articulated organization dedicated exclusively to the automobile. Today it has its own premises, employs about 200 people and is divided into specialist departments including Exterior Design, Interior Design and Trim and Colour Design.
The Centro Stile Fiat main task is to define the
guidelines for future Fiat models
, genuine strategies designed to attract the customer and increase brand value.
Drawing up these guidelines begins with the
concept for a new model
, which involves design, marketing and engineering choices, and then moves on to the
search for style
. Meticulous studies carried out on each element in the car and an almost maniacal attention to exterior and interior details help to
create an Italian product that is instantly recognisable as a Fiat.
Today, thanks to three-dimensional design work using virtual methods carried out by the new
Fiat Reality Center
, design proposals can easily be assessed and checked against production criteria. The definitive design of the new car therefore comes from the Reality Center, and is then used to create the master models.
